This is just one heckuva super intense, super terrific read!Not only was I glued to my comfy chair and my Kindle screen, scared out of my wits, but I was luuuvvvin' every minute of it!
I also got a kick outta all the superfab cool British phrases and words. I can talk-the-talk with some serious UK-speak now! How fun is that?!
I can't wait for the next one!!! What a cliffhanger ending...

I did not realize the type of book this was way to dark for my liking and really not into the cass Rose Person that is just me some might find it a good read
Really enjoyable reading. I plan on getting more reading by this author, based on the good book that this was.
They've done it again. A well written, compelling novel. "Law and Order" with a twist of lime. I read it in one night and one early morning. Cassie Rose is so real I felt as if I could share a drink with her despite her temper that frequently brings her close to disaster. The cast is well-drawn. The Huntsman is particularly frightening. The police procedural material puts you right there at the scene. Edgy, provocative, and chilling. It's a riveting mix of the dark and light sides of human nature as played out on the gritty streets. No spoilers here. Enjoy the tension. Highly Recommended.
I rate this book a 4 because the story dragged in spots.
A cliffhanger ending. DCI Rose is an interesting character.
I hope there are more books to come.
I started the book and it just wasn't my cup of tea. Even if the detective is a lesbian I would just get to the detecting part and not care about her personal love life. I am sure this fills someone's favorite catagory, just not mine.
Thirty pages were good but the ending was a joke that wasn't funny. It was so unrealistic that no one could suspend disbelief. Don't read this and be disappointed. This isn't a spoiler. You'll see. Yuck.
First 2/3 of the book was mostly good actually. The story plot is OK, and anything that happened in the police stations was interesting. But having 2 female lovers, where one is the police inspector and main character- and pretty cool indeed (apart from far to often being described as grinning.. and the other a lawyer with 3 kids who is the most unlikeable and arrogant character I have read about in a long while. This made the love story not really believable at all, and any love scenes made me think, it was more about that then 2 people getting along living a life together. And then 3 kids, who are funnily enough never told a NO when it counts, but are repeatedly corrected in their language by their mother. all that ruined it for me, so as the scene moved from London to a cottage on the country side, I clicked through the rest of the pages until the bad guy showed up.
the first book sugar and spice was so good, I wish this had been more about the police work. That is my taste, and as you see- other people did like it. I did not.
